Privacy and Policy
Onscreen Counselling will only disclose personal information if necessary: if either the counsellor or client is at risk of harm; if there is a suspected case of child abuse or alleged child abuse; if there is known or suspected case of adult or elder abuse; if there is a threat of suicide or self-harm.
All sessions are carried out with the use of secure videocalling software Zoom which provides a higher level of security than other software such as Skype. The sessions are live and therefore not recorded in any form.
Ethical Statement
All work is to highest ethical standards and each counsellor follows the BACP ethical guidelines. Your privacy and culture will be respected at all times. Your details and communications will remain confidential between you and your counsellor. We will be obliged to break confidentiality if you have indicated that there is a risk of harm to yourself, or someone else. In some circumstances we may be required by ethics to seek advice and guidance from other professionals. We would of course try to discuss this beforehand with you to obtain your consent.
Data Quality
Onscreen Counselling uses Zoom, a secure videocalling software. All telephone calls to our admin team are confidential.
Payment Information
We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
Any personal data retained by your counsellor is kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
